Diphtheria is a severe infection spread through contact with the saliva and mucus of another individual. Also it goes on to affect multiple areas of the body, notably the throat leading to respiratory issues.

Symptoms

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Swollen glands

Prevention

To help reduce your risk of infection you can wash your hands frequently with sanitisers or soap. Avoiding sharing personal items such as eating and drinking utensils
